TAITRA's Service Industry Promotion Center was inaugurated in July 2006 to facilitate the globalization of Taiwan's burgeoning service industry.  Initially, the Center focus on companies based in construction, medical and healthcare, tourism and leisure, IT, and distribution services.

Construction Industry

TAITRA organized the Internationalization of the Construction Industry and Finance Support Forum , which was attende d by representatives from the government, business, academic, and banking sectors. Key issues on how to help the domestic construction companies expand into different foreign markets were discussed.  TAITRA also led several delegations to visit oil-rich countries in the Middle East, Germany, and Vietnam to explore investment and other business opportunities.

Medical Services

AITRA hosted seminars served as open forums for the government and various industries to brainstorm and discuss new strategies for creating positive conditions for the development of Taiwan's medical service sector.  After conducting a series of surveys within the medical field, TAITRA has pinpointed both Japan's and China's medical service sectors as target markets.  TAITRA will organize interactive visits to exemplary hospitals with the aim of establishing overseas service connections.

Business Tourism

To help promote local tourism, TAITRA offers all foreign visitors to its various Taipei trade shows, conferences, and forums the opportunity to join local leisure tours during their stay in Taiwan.  It is committed to arranging more package tours filled with relaxation, exotic dining, and cultural activities to attract foreign business people to explore the island.

IT Services Industry

TAITRA organized the Software Industry Outsourcing CMMI( Capability Maturity Model Integration) Mission to Japan.  This mission proved successful in gaining the admiration of major Japanese enterprises.

TAITRA has continued to assist local enterprises in tapping into the Japanese markets for video games and software outsourcing sector. China, South Korea and Southeast Asia are also the target markets to be explored.
