Providing Sourcing & Trade Information Services

Taiwantrade has accumulated a large number of members, including some 160,000 foreign buyers and 80,000 Taiwanese suppliers, as well as 280,000 product listings. Possessing a wealth of online skills and experience, Taiwantrade uses both abstract and concrete marketing channels to collect and deliver trade inquiries to prospective member suppliers.

With 11 million visitors in 2007 (72.56 percent of which were international visitors), Taiwantrade has proven to be an important source of trade information for foreign companies. One of its most successful programs involves specialized online exhibition sites that offer services throughout the period of an event. Be it a Taiwanese trade mission to a foreign nation, a local exhibition delegation at overseas trade shows, or an international conference/trade show in Taiwan, these online exhibition sites provide essential support and give access to all parties involved.

Videoconferencing Service Network (VSN)

Recent advances in Internet connectivity, together with the development of more sophisticated AV communication systems and equipment, have made videoconferencing a practical option for businesspeople at different locations to see and hear each other at the same time. TAITRA completed its videoconferencing system network in June 2007. Installation of the VSN was carried out in line with one of the three key policies of the Executive Yuan to encourage local small and medium enterprises, especially those located in central and southern Taiwan, to take part in important discussions.

TAITRA also established a system for video broadcasting over the Internet in November 2007. This has enabled enterprises anywhere in the world to use their web-connected PCs to view live videoconferences held in Taipei.

Customized eProcurement and Sourcing Services

Taiwantrade serves as a powerful search engine for foreign buyers to easily locate Taiwanese products and suppliers. Meanwhile, large-scale buyers from around the globe have greatly benefited from its eProcurement service through a customized Chinese-language procurement website that attracts qualified local suppliers.

In 2007, the eProcurement Service successfully carried out 58 procurement projects for 29 global enterprises, attracting around 478 qualified Taiwanese suppliers. Each of the buying companies, including BOSCH, Delphi, Siemens VDO, Arcelik, Speedo, etc., has annual purchase volume exceeding over 10 million U.S. dollars.

Online Trade Mission Services

To bolster TAITRA's current trade mission efforts with Taiwantrade's network services, an online Trade Mission Zone has been created to accompany each overseas trade mission. A total of 28 cases were fulfilled as 1,808 buyers made 5,618 appointments online with 731 exhibitors in 2007. This became another successful model of abstract and concrete integrated marketing channels to offer exhibitors twice the standard amount of service. TAITRA also provides the same services for Taiwan trade and industry associations, which successfully managed some 294 cases in 2007.

Taipei Trade Shows Online Exhibition (TTS)

Taiwantrade in cooperation with numerous show planners and event organizers has created a brand new marketing and exhibition link that offers services throughout all stages of an international trade event held in Taipei.

The new Taipei Trade Shows Online Exhibition (TTS) site was launched in March 2007, providing services to 6,646 suppliers and 67,548 buyers. It featured 27 different trade shows online and attracted over 777,864 visitors in the year.
